About Apogee: Who We Are

Apogee was founded in 2004 with a desire to improve access to medical care and to improve the Healthcare industry through better information and robust analytical analysis. Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama (home to the second largest research triangle in the world), Apogee Informatics Corporation started as a Healthcare industry consultancy focused on providing better data analysis using innovative tools, algorithms, modeling and simulation techniques to identify and recommend improved Healthcare processes.

Apogee built its first patient flow modeling tool for Vanderbilt University Medical Center Emergency Department and realized that the benefits of this approach could be extended to many other hospitals that were facing this growing challenge. The benefits of the program were evident and the decision was made to commercialize it to share with other hospital systems. With this early success, the tool was further developed into what is now called the Patient Flow Center and has been expanded into other hospitals. The purpose of the Patient Flow Center™ and the attendant analytical services is to improve access to critical entry points for care, opening up more beds, facilitating time dependent treatments crucial to the best outcomes, and speeding patients along the continuum of inpatient care.

Apogee management has extensive experience in clinical medicine, information system engineering, and Healthcare process improvement. We have deep expertise in Healthcare informatics and core competencies in modeling & simulation, analytical transformation and visualization of information. Apogee is unique in the practical application of these tools to improve hospital operations.

We are unique in the Healthcare marketplace because of how we combine our innovative Patient Flow Center™ with the analytical services it provides to help hospitals improve patient flow not just in the ED, but throughout the hospital. To learn more, please contact us at your convenience.

Effective patient flow management requires vision, strategy and a plan to address these issues.
